Notebook Computer Purchase: Online Order NOW AVAILABLE

The School of Dental Medicine has selected Apple™ as the sole computer hardware vendor for both Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS operating system platforms.

We believe this option provides the best overall value in terms of price, flexibility, and support. Apple notebooks consistently rank very high in customer satisfaction and have been extremely popular among students the last two years. By selecting Apple as the single computer hardware vendor we were able to further reduce the price and provide students more flexibility and choice of operating systems.

Students are asked to select one of two primary operating systems for daily use: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate or Apple Mac OSX (Leopard). Should that preference change at any point, IT staff will be able to reconfigure the notebook for a different primary operating system.

Effective June 8, 2009, Apple™ introduced a new Macbook Pro model. This is exciting and advantageous, as your class will be equipped with the latest hardware model. However, we cannot begin to accept notebook orders until the pricing for the newer models has been confirmed.  The notebook order form will be available beginning Monday, June 29 through Monday, July 13, 2009. You will receive an email notification when the online ordering system is available to you.
