Visual Acuity

Visual acuity is a critical element in dental education. You are therefore strongly urged to complete a comprehensive eye examination and, if necessary, obtain the proper corrective lenses. You will be required to wear protective lenses for all laboratory and clinical courses. If you already wear corrective lenses, they will meet this requirement. However, they must be equipped with side shields in order to meet OSHA standards. If you do not wear corrective lenses, there are several manufacturers who produce non-corrective protective eyewear that can be used for this purpose.
